Very nice, I like your edited photos, much better when using a prime and shooting in raw. I knew it can be much better and that's why I mentioned that they are not edited, jpegs straight out of camera. I have some fast primes like FA 50mm 1.4 and 43mm limited 1.9 that I could have used but I went with my kids and decided to take one lens that would give me the ability to shoot wide angle if needed. (and the glass is not at all clean from kids touching it)

Nice example of underestimated kit lens. (did you do a lot of editing besides black and white?)

I was driving on the bridge/freeway and the sunset was beautiful, pulled out my K-30 with FA 43mm limited on it and snapped this through an opened window holding it with one hand using and live-view, going about 55mph(not the safest thing to do)
-turned out that I also got the airplane in it as well (it is near airport and the plane was landing)

Could very well be, I believe I pre-focused on the toy and was trying to have the dog and toy be the same distance from me. (or it could be the shutter speed of 1/640 was not fast enough to freeze it)
here is another sample

ISO 12,800 -- quick sample of jpeg, slightly cropped, resized and auto corrected in MS Picture Manager
Shot with K-30 and 43mm limited lens, using f2.0 and 1/640
(Processed RAW shuld be much better)
