Maybe you should demand from sigma to remount your Pentax lenses (and of course the sigma) to your brand of choice. See how they react.

I think you need Sigma more than Pentax.

Nope it is better for Sigma to backtrack, so their lenses are up to spec for their customers. Pentax doesn't owe Sigma anything.

Pentax made some pretty fat new lenses for the K-1 Yet they fit without scratching. The wide mount plates sigma uses are just lazy design. Should Ricoh have given us an even higher body or a smaller pentaprism magnification to accommodate Sigma lenses? Should they have compromised the design of the K-1 to accommodate sigma lazyness? I don't think so.

not strange They widened it for WR. At some point the stopped using the old mount plate for non wr bodies (k-500 also has a wider plate, as has the K-S1, but the K-01 still had the narrower pre-wr plate)

I already found out. Pentax did make the mountplate on the body a bit wider though (to accommodate wr).

This explains it. Sigma is making very wide lens bodies to accommodate big elements (wider image circle so the corners are sharper), they simply made the outer dimensions of the lens mount larger. It is sigma violating specs here. They should shrink it by half a mm and there isn't a problem.

Yeah that's why Canon and Nikon are actively blocking third party batteries and Nikon is frustrating Sigma by making changes to it's protocol. At least Pentax Ricoh isn't actively doing that. Maybe sigma should take into account larger tolerances when designing their lenses.

So how would a lens scratch the body? Is the plastic housing running into the pentaprism housing above the mount? I'm sure it is not inside the mount, or they wouldn't say the body. When it would hike against the body when mount it would eventually scratch it. But they say it could scratch the body. So you probably would have to be careful when mounting.
This is a DC 30mm 1.4:
nothing strange.
