BHP/Adorama and Amazon can probably demand a price point from Ricoh. European retailers aren't big enough for that.

The 70-200 2.8 This lens costs €2299 not 2000. Currently there is a 10% discount because of 100 year Pentax.

I wouldn't be so dismissive about it. The 28-105 is also excellent and the DA 55-300 PLM is very well controlled: HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3 PLM WR RE Review - Aberrations | PentaxForums.com Reviews
Pentax know how to make lenses. The Tamron screw drive 70-300 is a very old design and not representative of what newly developed glass can do. The lens won't be $300 either. More like $500/600 introduction price. (The 55-300 was 450 at introduction).

I expect the 70-300 to be compact and light like the HD DA 55-300 mm F4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE

70-200 F4 is a lighter more budget friendly alternative for the 70-200 2.8. The 70-300 will alsmost certainly by a F4-5.6ish lens. Maybe derived from the HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE design.
