K3 + FA50 f2.8 Macro
This one is likely the last image I took with the FA50 Macro. I just sold this lens to a forum member. Hope he will like the lens as much as I do. |

Yep, The tricky part and the fun part is pick a spot where I can expect a car to stop for the traffic light.
I was lucky too. The last miliseconds the car took off that’s why I got the light trails in front of the car.
And the line for car waiting to turn left is shorter, so I got the dash orange light trails to the right hand when another car running pass my camera.

Long exposure of a busy road in front of Tokyo Tower. K3 + DA15 Usually, the whole tower will be decorated with bright orange / red lights. I thought it was good for the blue hour sky, so I went there and wait for the blue hours just to find out they turn light off in the center and use blue, almost green light that day!
Not to mention it didn't visually go well with the tower's pain which is mostly Red, IMO
A Japanese person told me that it is to celebrate a guy winning a gold medal figure skating in the Olympic. That's interesting. Back in my country, they dim or turn off light only to express sympathy or grieve, and for sure using extra light to celebrate...something like...wins the Olympic gold medal. |

What i like most about Tokyo and Japan in general is their mass transportation networks. It so good, I have never had to deal with Traffic-jam since I move here. And Tokyo is one of the world's most populous metropolitan with upwards of 37.8 million people. This particular corner is next to Tokyo Station (not in the picture but it likes 5 minutes walk to the left side of the image.), the busiest station in Japan. And as see in the Image, I has almost no car on the street! This photo is a stacked of 15 images to create the light trails.
I wish, back at home we have 1/10 the mass transportation networks Tokyo has. |

Night back street in Asakusa Sensoji temple. Left side is a mirror of image in the right. Just to make it a bit more interesting. (because stores on the left side do not have the same red paint looks.) it was taken with K3 + FA50 2.8 macro. |

When I first in Tokyo, I didn't really get the point of this type of crossing except it looks cool . but later I learn that it designs to help reduce human-jam (on the sidewalk) + trafficjam at the same time which it seems to work well here. Shibuya crossing is a very good example. they got x100 more people during rush hour and or weekend waiting to cross the road in front of the main train station. normal road crossing rule has no change of dealing with that many people.
Talk about Shibuya cross, here you go, Saturday evening at Shibuya cross. Crossing road there looks very much like Braveheart's battle scene!
not sure if anyone can see street below. |

yeah, I in fact went there because weather forecast said it would rain that night. Neon light reflection from wet road in Akihabara will be insane. good for photograph but could be very bad for driving.

thanks,
multiple exposure, 3 of 20 sec to capture the light-trails. and 1 of 2 sec to get the stopping car in the middle.
I wanted a stopping car with light trails behind it, but timing was not that good. I spent like almost an hour trying to do just that, but unable to do it because car come and go at a random timing. no luck that night.
