Mine was in repair for only 1 or 2 days and then it was shipped in 1 ... so you likely will have it for the holiday.

Have you called? I would reach out to the Pentax contact various people have mentioned in this thread. He is very responsive.

Sometimes you just have to go to the top!
I sent an email to the President/CEO of Ricoh USA (Joji Tokunaga) this morning and got an email back from someone on the technical solutions team. He apologized for the delay and assured me that "all upgrade kits should be fulfilled and received by mid-December." I had also emailed the President of Precision last week - with no response - so very happy that Ricoh responded. Ricoh moved up a notch in my view.
The person on the tech team offered to have my camera shipped back while I wait (which Precision has also been offering) and which I probably will decline since I don't want to lose my place in the queue and shooting with my K3 (and the 1.5 extra reach) is kind of fun. BUT I do miss my K1.
I will follow up with him in mid-December if they don't make good on their promise. (I did offer to take a NEW K1 II at a discount, but they didn't bite.)
Anyway - more waiting but I feel confident this is accurate information.

I spoke to them (Precision) about 1 week ago and they told me parts were due in November, but they could not tell me where I am in the line. They have my camera and I am using my K3 II until I get my K1 back. Now it sounds like December. I am also frustrated with the lack of communication and misinformation, but look forward to getting the upgrade. Feels a bit like my camera is already depreciating and I can't even use it! I just hope they don't release the K1 iii before I get my ii upgrade! :)

I spoke to Precision and got the same info, "No ETA." I emailed Pentax and got, "Thanks for being a loyal customer. You will get the upgrade when available."
So really zero solid info on the ETA. I replied and asked again for an ETA.
I also sent my camera in.... but can live a few more weeks with my backup K3....

I called last week and they told me to send in my K1 to beat the deadline EVEN thought the site clearly says to wait until they reach out. I opted to not deal with the risk of missing the deadline so sent in my camera. I do have a K3 II sitting around - so now it's back in action.
I am not optimistic about the timeline on this upgrade! But I guess we will see.
