Thank you and congratulations. Yes, the Helios 44-2 photo did have some contrast and color boost. I did most of this in-camera (K-1), as it was taken on holiday. The good news is that the lens is centre sharp wide open and the raw/jpeg images can handle quite a lot of pp - which they normally need, but I think you'll find the results are worth it. It's a fun lens.
Thank you! Here are two more from interesting bokeh lenses with the K-1; both radio-active, like the Pancolar above. A Tomioka Auto-Revuenon 55/1.2 and a Yashica Yashinon 50/1.7 |

Nice! Is this the K mount version? I've been enjoying the M42 version Auto Revuenon 55/1.2 recently.
And for something different, a Helios 44-2 with a home made starburst filter. |

I'm a big fan of the bokeh produced by the Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 50/1.8, radio-active version. Here it's enhanced by additional glass - a street sculpture by the bridge leading to Windsor Castle. |

Many thanks. I'm not sure of the precise optical design of the early Super-Takumar versus the K55mm f1.8. But what I do know is that the earlier lens has fewer coatings and fewer aperture stops, and results wise, the bokeh is different - busier and it "glows" more. The later SMC Takumar 55/1.8 is more alike the next generation K version, although even that is slightly different in my experience - it's warmer.
Here is a photo by another Super-Takumar gem, the 8 elements Super-Takumar 50/1.4 |

Many thanks JP, and congratulations on that wonderful Tair 11A find. And thanks also to everyone else who liked my S-M-C Takumar photo.
I don't have a 85/1.4, but I have a K 85/1.8, and it's super smooth in the bokeh department, so I guess a 1.4 could be even smoother. Here's one from the long gone days when I thought it worth (c) signing photos. |

100% agree and here they are, up to the SMC Takumar 55/1.8.
They early Auto-Takumars create quite unusual bokeh. This is by an Auto-Takumar 55/2.2
And one by a Helios 44-2. |
