Weren't most of the wierd/off-brand lenses of the past made by manufacturers such as Tokina/Cosina etc.?
Whether Ricoh is an off-brand is of course debatable but considering that the first lens of the thread was an Auto-Rikenon 50/1.7 I figured that the Riconar fits here as well.

Sun Wide Zoom Macro 24-40mm F3.5. All shots stopped down to F8. Image quality is pretty decent for an old zoom so far as I can tell. The downside is that it's a huge chunk of cast iron and glass. At least it feels like cast iron.
Ricoh Riconar 55mm F2.2. Dirt cheap (10 euros attached to a broken Ricoh KR-5) and plasticky. But it does work well enough as a beater lens. The recessed front element makes a hood unnecessary making it even more compact. |
