A few years ago all zoom lens aperture ratings were for the highest figure even tho they dropped of zooming to longer focal lengths and this lens might have came from those days.Hope I am wrong and you have a constant 2.8

Wanted that lens but for under 100 bucks.Didn't look up the specs on the lens but if I remember right when that lens was made the designation 2.8
wasn't constant
