I've been shooting almost exclusively with the Sony NEX-5N for months now. Today I decided I needed to give the K20 a workout along with the 28-75. One thing I noticed right off the bat was how noisy that combo is compared to the Sony. Wasn't hard to figure out the thing was focussing.
This is from this afternoon, taken in full shade & WB corrected with a WhiBal.
Still love this camera/lens combo. :D

Haha, no problem. If not for the background I could easily believe it was 200 feet tall and 500 years old. :)

Just ambient lighting from the window, no flash. The background is a piece of black foamboard propped up on a tripod. That was darkened in PS. It's my standard background scheme for shooting flowers as well.

Wyf picked up some new xmas ornaments the other day. Etched red glass balls. Thought they were neat. Shot them. No worries, they survived. ;)

Thank you sir, it's an improvement I think. I'd probably print that one.

Evening light through the leaves. Shot this evening before sunset. I thought the light hitting the leaves looked pretty good.
Tammy 18-250 again.
And a crop of another shot of the same tree.
I've been loooking at the second pic since I posted it. It accurately reflects the scene as it existed when I shot it. But… it's kinda flat. Lacks pop. So I reprocessed it. Granted, I'm a Velvia kinda guy, but I like this one better. |

Every day for 20 years I've driven past this old chimney. I have no idea what the story is, why the building is no longer there, but my imagination has run wild over the years.
I've always meant to shoot this, but things got in the way (no camera, no time, traffic etc.). Today I had the camera, I had the time for a quick shot or two and the traffic was light. There are some benefits to having been laid off I suppose.
These were more "proof-of-concept" shots rather than an attempt to adequately capture this scene. The light sucked, it was hazy & overall sucked for what I would want to do, so I'll bide my time and go shoot this in better conditions. Assuming I don't get a job first. :p

Just like a bad penny… :p
I prefer the first except for the DOF, which is way too deep- the grass distracts.

Shot this Saturday night as part of a wedding shoot. This is my 3 year old granddaughter before the ceremony began. She was the flower girl. Kinda forgot to spread any flowers, but oh well, when you're cute you get away with stuff. :p |

Yeah, I've been busy making these key fobs:
and these dragonflies:
and these boneheads:
and other stuff as well. Since I have a short attention span I'm easily distracted and well, these are the first shots I've taken in over month.
I am sooooo bad! :o

Nice shot JT. You know, I almost bought the 24-135 instead of the 28-75 all those years ago. I wonder what my lens line up would look like now if I had?
Hmmmm… hard to say.

Welcome Porga!
Great use of DOF in this shot, the 28-75 is a champ. :)

Froggie, that was well worth the wait.
Keep it up, you could make it on to my list of people to hate because they shoot better than me. :p

Mike- killer shot. Just the right amount of light on the person here. Very cool. :)

It's 11° F outside and I was trying to hand hold these shots. Should have dug the tripod out of the back of the car. :o

The rays make that first one perfect.
I think you're going to need either a running start or a cape if you're planning to fly from there though.
