I felt that way for a good while also, but I use my K-3 so little nowadays. Steadily moved back to film over the past couple years, so I figured I'd let it go for some other full-frame glass. The smc-M 20/4.0 gives roughly the same field of view (just slightly wider) and honestly, it's pretty dang close in my opinion.
This is from the M20 on the K-3 - not quite as wide on APSC obviously, but for as much as I shoot the K-3, it more than suffices. On film and FF it straight up shines. supernightlight by Kevin Rosinbum (Eyewanders Foto), on Flickr
K-3 with M20/4.0, just for comparisons here.

Haven't been in here in forever - I let my 15 go quite a while back to a local PF member, but I do miss it dearly now and again. :) Was culling through some old shots and came across this forgotten keeper. (it's much better in the large lightbox on Flickr)

Uh oh - where'd it go. You must have removed or replaced it on flickr. Link is broken above now.

If it at least had an aperture ring, I'd probably have kept it just to throw it on for some crazy vignetting now and again.

I've been eyeing that one as well for precisely the same reason.

Well this may have been my shortest length of time owning a lens, and not because I didn't enjoy it. Truth is I purchased it from another forum goer here at the tale end of a very serious bout of LBA and even though I knew that I was shooting mostly film. So off it just went to another lucky fellow. I imagine I'll pick it up again, but only my film bodies have been leaving with me lately, so it has just financed an A 20mm 2.8 :)
Here's one of the last shots, in memoriam, snapped a short number of evenings ago, late in Victoria B.C. |

This doesn't entirely belong in this thread, but it sort of does. Just wanted to throw up a quick and dirty comparison the first DA 15mm shot I posted out my window the other night (a few posts up) with this one, taken with the Ricoh GR with the 21mm adapter that just arrived this afternoon. It's out the same window, processed as closely as I could, working quickly. Not an entirely fair comparison, the Pentax had the benefit of a city-lit clouds passing by, while tonight it's clear and black up there. Nevertheless... I'm awfully impressed with the Ricoh in this case. Attachment 210153 |

it arrived... and my longing shall be replaced by mind control of a deeper kind. a quick shot out the window immediately after mounting proved what it is. thanks freerider.
