Moonrise over Staple Tor last night. Around here there's usually only or two times a year that the sky will be this clear at full moon. Moon Over Staple Tor by David Holland, on Flickr
Handheld with the Lumix TZ70. One of those times when you're glad you've always got a superzoom compact with a 720mm equivalent lens in your pocket.:)

Last night's full moon, with a pony blithely ignoring it. |

A very hazy supermoon rising yesterday, with Pixie's Cross in the foreground. I probably should have used a tripod and focus stacked, but I really hate tripods. I mean, I REALLY, REALLY hate the things. . . the air always turns blue when I try to use one, whether it's the blue hour or not. . . Partial lunar eclipse last night with the inevitable Dartmoor ponies. I waited and waited at the bottom of Barn Hill hoping that one of the nags would be in the right place when the moon crossed the hill crest, but this was as close as I got. Last night the moonrise was at the same time as sunset, so I went out with a planned shot in mind (thanks to Photographer's Ephemeris). We'd had clear skies all day, but it started clouding over about an hour before moonrise and I didn't get a single shot.
Happened to wake up at about 5.15am and saw the beautiful deep red eclipse through the window, but didn't go out to take any photos because the angle wasn't right for any interesting foreground.
Then this morning the moonset was about the same time as sunrise, and I had another planned shot in mind. This time there was clearing cloud cover, but with the moon fully hidden until after it set.
It's now about twenty minutes after moonset, the last of the clouds have cleared, and it's a beautiful sunny morning. So it goes.
