All of the lightbox stuff I've posted was done with the Q + 01 Prime.
The photo of the bear was at ƒ/4.0. Considering how "3-D" the scene actually was, I think this was a relatively wide aperture to still get everything "in focus". The backdrop ramps down quickly, the bear is reclining such as she would on a pool lounger. The top paper is just short of vertical, the bottom paper just short of flat (look for the curvature at the edges to see how much warp is present).
Both of the photos of the lens were taken at ƒ/5.6. I believe that the focus distance was very near Min. FD, or about 8". I confess that I'm not big on macro, but I know that photos such as these from APS-C generally fall off much faster, and not many lenses focus at 8".

I mostly take light box photos of things I'm trying to sell, I don't have more "fine art" such as the bear drawing above. |

I've used the Q with a light box a few times, it works very well. DOF generally covers everything. The 01 Prime can focus pretty close, too. Plenty of detail even at 100%.

CobusBasson, example photos would help diagnose your problem.
You mentioned that you used the same aperture, but have you tried the same shutter speed? Leaves are known to move around when windy and a fast shutter speed may be necessary depending on the conditions. Once again, this is only a guess based on the information provided, if you have samples then someone can provide better feedback.
