It won't work on the nicest bodies but the Super A / Super Program & MZ-S (for AF) aren't too bad...
My current active kit (minus the K5 + DA18-135WR for harsher environments):
(To stay on topic, there's a Pentax hidden in there) nFD300/5.6 | nFD35-105/3.5 | Sony FE85/1.8
nFD50/1.4 | A7 + Samyang FE35/2.8 | nFD24/2.8
nFD35/2 | Pentax K28/3.5
K&F Concept FD/FE adapter | Fotodiox Pro PK/FE adapter |

If I pick up a film body for these lenses (I've got an AE-1 Program but I'm not impressed...),it'll be a T90, mostly because of the Multi-spot metering.

It's from an online classifieds ad (80€), this sort of bargain usually disappears within a few hours - so you still have to be quick to get it - but the chances are a lot better than on ebay...
I decided to sell it at a profit before I even got my hands on it... I already have an ordinary 24/2.8 with the same optics (and possibly slightly better coatings), I could see any IQ difference between the two in a quick test on APS-C (Fuji X-E1).
I'm a bit unsure about the asking price though, the VFC has a tiny scratch on the edge of the front element. It won't impact the image quality but I'm don't know what kind of impact on the value it has to a collector.
It's certainly 1st or 2nd (behind the 58/1.2) on my list of lenses to try on FF.

Not quite, but I did find it neatly packed in the original lens case. The Lens by itself (w/o TC & caps) weighs 666g, maybe it's protected by satanic forces...

Yes, it fits the MD85/2 very nicely.
The XK is a heavy beast and it doesn't really have any advantage over your LX. The XD/XD-7/XD-11 has a brilliant shutter priority mode.
There's a nice camera for every mount though (LX, XD-7, OM-4, F3, T90, R5, RX), I think the lenses should be the deciding factor.
If the two systems complement each other, it can make sense but if you end up getting similar lenses for both systems it's rather seems like a waste of money...
If I got my hands on a Canon FD 85/1.2L or 24/1.4L, I'd buy a T90(for the multi-spot metering) in an instant.
If an Olympus 90/2 Macro, 21/2 or 180/2 falls into my lap,it'll be an OM-4 and an LX if I get my hands on an A*85/1.4 or A*135/1.8.
The Minolta system has a lot of nice lenses but none quite as special as the ones mentioned above.

That's a nice kit, I wouldn't mind taking it away from you (especially the K50/1.2 and the LX).
My usual kit looks quite similar but, alas, it will never fit on a K-1:(: (Before you hang me as a traitor: There is one piece of Pentax gear in there!)
On occasion, I'll swap out the 85 & 200 for this little trinket: |

That's a nice selection, the Mamiya makes the others look so cute...
I only have one TLR but at least it's a nice one:
Oh well, I can only use one at a time anyway... |

Damn, that looks sweet!
I've been trying to keep my Minolta kit black-on-black but you've got me wavering now... |

Oh, I know. I'd definitely get the Rokkor, if I felt a specific fisheye-need. For now, it's too expensive given that I'd use it very rarely (I'd go for the MC21 first...).
I'm trying to get rid of the nice but unused things, like this one:
It's in perfect working order and "J.H. Keyser" from Denkendorf seems to have taken good care of it.
I barely use my Minolta Autometer IV F though, this one's only decoration. (And I [EXPLETIVE DELETED] hate decoration...)

I prefer it from this angle:
Yeah, I suppose they could just have had one in every store... I spend ages looking for the right diopter when I stumbled upon this thing.
I'd prefer an XD-s but I don't exactly have much to complain about. (except: Why won't anyone sell me a MC21/2.8 for 30€ like my 58/1.2? The world is so unfair...)

I think my Minolta collection is pretty much complete now (only missing a Sony A7, I'm working on it...):
X-500 (with MD1 grip); XD (with eyepiece selector); 5° Spot attachment; Autometer IV F
MD 300-S tele converter; MD 200/2.8; MD 135/3.5; Vivitar S1 90/2.5; MD 85/2
MC 58/1.2; MC 50/1.4; MD 35/1.8; MC 28/2.5; MD 24/2.8
I'm still missing three of Minoltas greatest (MC 16/2.8, MC 21/2.8, MD 135/2) but those are too rare & expensive to consider (unless I find a real bargain of course...).
Now I'm off to turn the rest of my stuff into money.

If anyone doesn't like black lenses...
Before:
After 3 weeks of UV-C (<10cm in front of the front element, >130w/m²):
On the plus side, the UV-C bulb worked where a normal blacklight did [EXPLETIVE DELETED] all to remove the yellowing...

That's a good deal you got there! It's a bit large for APS-C use (I prefer my MC 50/1.4 with the Lens Turbo) but I'm keeping it just in case I can ever afford a fullframe MILC. (Sony needs an affordable normal prime and a competitor to the Fuji 18-55, though) on a Sony A7:

That's good for the guy who just bought it... I don't like manual zooms (especially push/pull-zooms). I shouldn't have sold my MD35-70/3.5, though.
If it wasn't for the minimum focus distance (1.5m, the macro mode only works at 105mm), I might have kept the MD 35-105/3.5-4.5.
In terms of sharpness and contrast, some of the Minolta zooms are excellent (they tend to have rather strong distortion, though): at 50mm (on APS-C):

I'm not really into the whole gang bang thing but I couldn't pass up this one:
(full resolution)
Back row:
Maginon-Serie 500mm f/8 (Minolta, preset)
Hanimex 200mm f/4.5 (M42, preset)
Travenar 135mm f/2.8 (Minolta MC)
Tokina RMC 35-105mm f/3.5-4.3 (Minolta MD)
Makinon 24-50mm f/3.3-4.5 (Minolta MD)
Soligor C/D 28mm f/2.8 (Minolta MD, Serial: 6xxxxxxxx = Komine?)
Front row:
Tamron SP 26A 35-210mm f/3.5-4.2 (Adaptall-2)
Minolta MD 200mm f/2.8
Minolta MC 100mm f/2.5 (incl. original hood)
Minolta MC 35mm f/1.8 (incl. original hood)
Minolta MC 50mm f/1.4
The rest:
2x Minolta X-700
Soligor MP Auto Tele Converter 2x (Minolta MD)
Komura Telemore95 II 7.k.m.c (Minolta MD)
Minolta scope converter
WeimarLux Nova light meter
Gossen Lunasix
I only wanted the Minolta 200/2.8 but the seller didn't want to sell it separately.
340€ for the lot seemed like a good price...
Good thing Saturnalia is coming up, I've got lenses to test.

The same.
I don't know if some other company would be cheaper (most only ship to the EU and it's neighbours) but trying to find out would interfere with the action-oriented expression of my lazyness and thereby undermine the introjective self-justification of my offer...* *I get to read Habermas at university and you get to share my pain... |
