Very nice detail. It seems those old lenses work after all.

Nice informative view. I haven't used my K2, but it looks to be a lovely and very well made camera. As long as you have batteries working that is. (My ME Super meter works and sets speeds but doesn't control the shutter anymore on automatic, the K2 seems a much better quality machine.)

I love the dynamic range of tones you achieved with this. It brings life to B&W.

Thank you. Here is a picture of the Retinette with a Vero shutter. Mine had the Pronto shutter which also had a timer. Neither had a range finder or meter. Four speeds available 30th to 250th. One had to be good at estimating distances and exposure/ Retinette 1A by aeomaster32, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/f68mcj ---------- Post added 17-06-23 at 12:16 ----------
Another with the Kodak Retinette in 1962. My sister, in available indoor light..

I was smitten by this beauty when I visited her in 1961. I took this with a simple Kodak Retinette view finder (no range-finder or light meter).
Soon after I was browsing a photography book and saw a picture taken in 1864 that reminded me of the one I had taken. I used the Retinette again, but this time had to screw on a close-up lens to be able to get close enough.

Getting a good result with a close-up lens on viewfinder camera is a challenge. In 1961, I used a 1 Diopter lens screwed on front of lens and measured 21 inches to film plane.

Earliest Yashica 35mm from the Yashica factory (1958) built like a tank. Sharp Yashinon 2.8 lens. Film has problems with contrast. Ilford 400 Super C41

I took this in 1961 with a simple Kodak Retinette viewfinder camera (no rangefinder) which could shoot no faster than 1/250. Still, it makes an amusing picture sixty years later.

Great shot, and colour film would not be much different in this BW scene. I love Plus X back in the early days, its contrast made the pictures pop more than Panatomic. Of course commercial processing would have a big influence in this. I never developed my own.

Lovely clear definition shades there. Obviously your 6x7 works well.

The grain in that first shot adds a lovely texture.
