Here is a comparison between the 02 lens and a Vivitar 80-200 macro on a tripod with the plain Fotodiox adapter, with SR off.
02 lens hand held, SR on, trying to fill the screen each time, but getting too close with the 02 in the end to make the first (top) picture bigger.
St Andrews cross spider. You may be able to make out how it's legs are over the cross.
Body is 1/4 inch wide.

Actually, without information about the distance involved, one can't fully assess the performance of the lenses. That is why I shot at various ranges from six to twelve miles. One has to make allowances for the distances involved, and compare them to the same lens being used on a larger format. After all, the outstanding feature of the Q is it's pulling distance, so it is interesting to see just how far and how well it pulls. One needs to compare the alternatives. Here is a comparison I found on Flicker. schldkröteda300k5q | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
This is the comment below the pictures:
The picture with the Q ist the left one.
In both cases a DA* 300 was used.
This means even an expensive tele lens like the new pentax da 560 cannot beat the Pentax Q / DA 300 combo !!!!

(1980?) Vivitar Zoom Macro 80-200. Here are some long distance shots from this lens. The line of sight distances are, in order: 6, 10, and 12 miles. In camera jpeg with only a one step enhancement in PP.
Using the macro function of the Vivitar, I held this dime size coin in my hand and lifted it into the focus zone. Magnification is more that the customary 25%. The coin was about one foot away so one has working distance.
