Macaroni? Not Rock Hopper? Macaroni seems wrong to me somehow.
Good portrait.

Absolutely a good idea. I don't have a pixel-shift capable cam, but would like to try the multi-exposure mode on my GR to do something similar. The shot came out well.

All good, but the third is excellent, and has quite a timeless feel.

I didn't spot the tracks previously from a small screen - looks like interesting wheels!
Again, I didn't see the small heads out the side on my phone screen - this is pretty hilarious - good catch.

That's a great shot, matt. Like the colour contrast.
Yeah, I've been support crew upon occasion for these folks, and once they are in the zone, and have enough endurance, I think their mind keeps them fresh.

One I finally got to work on. I really like Nuthatches - the way that they feed down a tree is unlike anything I saw, growing up. K-5IIs and 60-250mm.

My, that's a big mountain. I'd like to see it up close, one of these years.

Nice ones - I hear you on the sun, it's been grey down here as well. I had snowbirds looking expectantly at my feeder today too, definitely cold related.

Every time I think "this 60-250mm is too heavy" I see how good the results are, even wide open.
I wish there was a sealed, fast, wide prime to go with it. Ah well, just have to use the GR.

Very much enjoying this lens - slowly getting back to being able to use it.

I couldn't believe this shot didn't fall apart - It would have with the K-7 ISO performance. Heavy crop:

Ditto with Norm's setup. Only used the 60-250mm with TC, the 15mm, and the GR.

I've not made it to the big island, but for all of the activities you mentioned, sounds like a great place to be. And with evening skies like that, i'm sure you can make the transition back!
