Wow...haven't checked in on this page in over a year and it's still going strong...cool!

Here's a quick one - 57 image Brenizer stitch (Sigma 50/D700)

http://www.mephotography.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/webbokehpano-1_stitch(pp_w639_h639).jpg

I'm going to spend some time this evening reading back and checking out how the past year has gone!

Loved reading and catching up on all the D800 shots here! Looks like a lot of you are having some good fun!

Here's a couple from an engagement shoot I did a few days ago. Taken with the "lowly" D700... ;)

P.S. Apologies in advance for lack of sharpness and wonky colour variance in the images...whenever I upload here the images take a bit of a turn for the worse. The colour/clarity/sharpness is consistent in the original set.

Gotta agree about the FA77...it's my favourite lens ever, I love the way it rendered. If I could butcher one to use on Nikon i would...

Took the summer car out of storage because the weather in Southern Ontario is so damn nice. Shot of my girls as we cruised around Elora, ON.

The quality of bokeh of the 1.4D is much creamier than the 1.8D's busy bokeh. The 1.8D is still a great lens and a great value, but the increase in price to the 1.4D does have it's impacts on image quality. That being noted, the 1.8D is plenty sharp wide open.

Neither is my Sigma 70-200, but I'm more than fine to carry and use it when it's IQ is so spectacular.

If you have all those primes you mustn't be afraid to walk a little when shooting, so I suspect that the Tamron doesn't bring anything to the table. 75mm to your 85mm would be negligable, but 28mm to 35mm would be a very drastic difference (on FF) - that's all you would gain.

Glad you like the set bossa, and thanks for your comments. The couple are very pleased with them.

The Sigma 70-200 is such an excellent lens - It single handedly changed me from a primarily prime shooter to a zoom shooter. It's IQ at 2.8 is awesome, it focuses really quick (stellar in continuous mode too), and it is absolutely silent. The only downside is that it is large and takes time to get used to it's heft. On the bright side though, when people see me using the 70-200 they clear out of my way (this session was at a public park that was full of people at the time). Free crowd control :)

LOL..me too!

I love the D700 so much I went out and bought a second one yesterday :)

D300s is a good back up, but I love the D700 so much I'm not willing to make any compromises.

P.S. Peter...the maternity shots look great!

Nice shots Jay/DWB!

Here's a few from a family portrait session this weekend (D700, Sigma 70-200, Sigma 85):

(P.S. Excuse the slight softness and slight drop in contrast. Not sure why this happens when uploading images here)

Session from this past weekend. October is going to be stupid crazy for us...everyone comes out of the woodwork when the leaves start to change colour! All taken with D700 and Sigma 70-200.

c[_]

P.S. Not sure why, but the images appear a touch soft and the contrast is lower then they really look when they were attached here. Anywho...you get the gist.

If I was being really honest, the only thing I miss about Pentax sadly is the look of the FA77 images. That's it.

The few minor niggles in getting used to new UI and button placement on D700/D300s was so worth it in terms of amazing AF (latching on and hit rate), flash (on/off camera using commander modes), and the speed of everything. Everything is always immediate, fast, and right...all the time. My camera's are now tools of my vision, rather than tOoLs of my vision.

I'm not knocking Pentax though, I really like their stuff. But, it was a brand that I simply outgrew...

Haven't posted in quite a while on PF's. Sharing a few shots from a recent wedding to let you know I'm still alive ;)

I think the vast majority of these were D700 with either the Sigma 50, Sigma 70-200, or Tamron 28-75. Might be 1 or 2 from D300s with the same lenses...

c[_]

Edit: Unnnhhh...the uploads are totally bunk. The images look flat in colour and not very sharp - I assure you they are. Also..I've been experimenting a fair bit with 1:2 and 1:3 crop ratio's. I love the widescreen look it gives :)

Love that 180 Jay!

I was thinking of picking it up (or the 135 DC), but alas I had to replace both of my photo editing PC's this week...so no new lenses for a bit.

On a side note, the 2nd gen i7 board is pretty sweet :)
