Very nice on the Canons. I would like to know what adapters were used; I am interested in finding the best M42-to EOS? (I know nothing about Canon mount) adapter as well as a K-to EOS adapter for a Canon 40D that I just purchased. Just to play around; my first love is Pentax!

Thanks so much! Yes, I read some more and decided to do it the way you suggested. I will post my first pics ASAP, having taken some in the kitchen and being awestruck by the speed and sharpness... this is even better than my Sears 50mm 1.7 ... well, that one has its special personality, but I love this little Tak already!

Hello again. I joined this club solely on the beauty of the photos I aspire to emulate. (And on the affordability and the build of the Takumar lenses.) What a great place to browse, but here's my issue:

I just threaded my genuine M42 to K adapter onto my first Tak—a Takumar 55 1.8, but I'm hesitant to mount it onto my K-r since it has a projecting round pin (that pushes in but doesn't push all the way down, at least with my finger).

Do I need to do anything at all, or can I just line up the red dots and go for it? Please help. Thanks so much.

~TJ

Ok, I get it; you were explaining the aperture ring on your Tak. Thanks.

This is a nice photo; could you explain a little about using the reverse aperture ring? I just bought a Takumar 55mm 1.8 but have not used it yet on my KR. I saw a reverse ring on Ebay today ...

I like the idea of a world full of non-Nikonians, non-Canonians, non-Pentaxians, etc., but just photographers sharing information.

I have a SMC Takumar 55mm, f1:8.; untried (waiting for my adapter), but looks great. Although I keep an eye out for the f1.4's, (50mm?) I would like ideas on another size to add that also gives stellar pics at a bargain.

Thanks, I went to Pentax's website but could not find the adapter.
I will try to find those threads. I am having a bit of a time searching on this forum. But thanks so much.

Hello, I am a new Pentaxian. I first researched Pentax DSLR's, then finally purchased a K-r in September 2012.

I just ordered a Takumar 55mm 1.8 on Ebay. Now I need an adapter. I would like the genuine Pentax M42 to K adapter if I can get one. The photos, forums, lens clubs and other info has been outstanding.

So if anyone has an adapter or can point me in the right direction, thanks ever so much.
