No way, you would not have turned the water on that cat. LOL I did a double take when I opened this post, your cat is a dead ringer for my cat, even to the white at the tip of his tail. Very cute picture.

In her prime my Jack Russell (who is about 9" high) used to drag sticks of that size. Or try to and then whine about it if she couldn't.

You're right Fred, speed is of the essence. I always use manual focus and have often thought I needed three hands -- one to hold the camera, one to focus, and a third to quick! snap the shot before the animal moves.

Thank you Fred. :)
Petenick, those are gorgeous shots of the turtles. But the snapper will grow up to look like this! I took these a couple months ago. She looked like she'd just emerged from hibernation. Of course I don't know if this turtle is a female, but I have had snappers lay eggs in the garden before. I have a ditch that stays filled with water most of the year, and the neighbor has a pond. This turtle is traveling from my ditch to the neighbor's pond. I see a snapper making this journey every spring.
Mr. Apollinax, that reminds me that I need to get a picture of my cat Tommy "helping" DH to read the newspaper.
jdg, that's a beautiful picture of your pups.
Maxwell, your Birman is very photogenic. Wonderful shot!

She's sitting up like a gopher in this picture. I wish I could have caught her spectacular leap up into the air when she went after her prey, which she missed, this time. |

Fred, no she didn't look too troubled, did she? :)
Simon, of course that bed is heated!! ;) It's plugged in much of the winter and after she gets a bath.
