Most of the cars I'm posting pictures of are going to turn into scrap metal sooner or later. The guy who owns the lot has a crusher on the property as well.

I think you may be right. Going back and forth between the two generations the grilles and headlights are similar but the mirrors on this one seem to be from the more recent model. Being in southern Ontario I expect the underbody rust is pretty bad. Most of the hundreds of cars on this lot were only good for parts (if that); some of the older models at the back have sizable trees growing through them. This car was middle of the pack in terms of condition, and the nicer bodies were mainly from the late '80s and '90s:

@gofour3 - A quick levels adjustment should sort that out. Sample (with all of your other editing untouched):

It also looks like you horizon is tilted by a degree or so, which could also be left over from the scanner but is fairly easy to correct.

Which do you think would fly better, a "Women on Film" or a "Portraits on Film" thread?

Wasn't Adam looking for a picture and a review of the Z-5p for the film camera review section? They seem to be pretty uncommon, likely due to a short production run. I have yet to see a Z-5 or Z-5p in person.

I would guess that photo was at 18mm. There was some additional vignetting on the sides of the frame that I cropped off. Other than being a bit soft wide open the 18-55 does pretty well on film, and the vignetting disappears by 24mm. Just using it as a 24-55mm zoom outdoors on sunny days is pretty handy since my next widest full frame lens is 28mm.

It's only economical for me to drive out and get film developed if I have half a dozen or so rolls. Now that I have a batch back I've got enough scanning and post processing to keep me busy for a while.

I think the flooring would qualify a Terrazzo. Here's another shot with a closer view of it.

Eventually I'll get to the club and sports photos. Some of them don't hold up as well because 200mm wasn't really long enough to cover the action.

I've been working on scanning my high school era yearbook photos and I have run into a few entertaining shots that I had forgotten about. Apparently some frames were damaged when they were developed originally since I keep coming across light leaks that seem to be from poor handling practices in the lab - the top 1/4 of this frame was orange but with a square crop it doesn't really matter.

Another oldie; jeep pull at the athletics BBQ. The men's wrestling team was robbed (we came in second even though the swim team's coach had the brakes on for our entire run).

K1000, grocery store ISO 400, M50mm f/2 or a horrific Albinar zoom.

The lack of grain in this film still surprises me; properly exposed scans almost look like files from a digital camera.

This is from a set I did for a class project about 10 years ago. I'm surprised by how well this film scans considering it was the least expensive grocery store branded 400 iso film I could buy at the time - the ISO and frame numbers are the only information printed on the negative. I didn't care about the colour accuracy because almost all of the photos I took at the time were being scanned from prints in black and white for a yearbook. This is as scanned on a V500:

ME, M 50mm f/1.7, long expired Kodak Gold 200

The first time I scanned these I got Newton rings because the roll was curled quite badly across its width. A few weeks in a textbook under a 5 lb. weight and the roll has flattened out enough to scan without hitting the scanner bed.

I need to find a source for cheap film sleeves, the local lab has stopped supplying them and just handed me the negatives loose in an envelope.

@Swift1 - There's a tiny little repair shop down the street from me that only works on older Japanese cars. Every now and then he has something interesting parked on the lot. The little white compact in the background with "Kiyo's" on the back window is the shop's rally car.

Just got the test roll back from my recently acquired (and somewhat beat up) ME and M 50mm f/1.7. Apparently everything works, including the meter.

From a long expired 12 exposure roll of Kodak Gold 200 found at the back of the cupboard:

3 shot stitched pano from a series I shot at the Cup and Saucer lookout on Manitoulin Island in 1997 or so. Pentax K1000 and an M50mm f/2 on Konica VX400. I might go back and retouch the sky - I should have been using a polarizer but didn't own one at the time.

@jgredline - I think the colours work if you're going for a bit of a surreal, exaggerated look. Sort of heading in the direction of an overcooked HDR but not quite as extreme.

Kodak Portra 400 NC, MZ-5n, FA 28mm f/2.8

My scanner isn't agreeing with the film's colour mask, so I've been fighting with different post processing approaches to come out with something that looks somewhat natural.
