These aren't Pentax shots, but I figured I'd share them anyway. Minolta X-700, Minolta 58mm f/1.4, 35mm f/2.8, and Vivitar 24mm f/2.

Kodak Portra 800

Lomo 400 @320 ISO

Excellent shots. I'm sold. I'll be trying that with my next batch. I also need to try it in the Adox developer.

Only as a negative. I like it a lot, but having found a tonal solution for CMS 20, prefer it. Silvermax does have great results. Her's a recent Silvermax shot that I'm happy with:

Sensorex II, Soligor 50mm 1.4, Silvermax 100 @100, L110 1+31 7:00

Silvermax is a slightly higher grain than I typically like with a 100 ISO film, but the image character is fantastic.

Thank you!

I just finished editing about 85 rolls of film from the last year. I was happy with some of the shots. Here they are with camera, lens, film, and development data.

Pentax LX, Vivitar RL Edition 28mm 2.8 in PKA, Tri-X 400 @400, D-76 1+1 9:30

Pentax LX, SMC-M 28mm f/2.8 (RIP), Adox CMS II 20 @20, D-76 1+3 10:30
If anyone has read all the APUG and similar forum threads denouncing D-76 for Adox 20 ISO film as 'just giving snow and ashes', I've been using this dilution and time a lot and it's working very well at delivering gray tones that hold their own against many other films. Here are a couple more from that same shoot with the same lens and film.

Pentax LX, 50mm f/1.4 (probably, maybe the 31mm 1.8), Rollei Retro 80S @80, RPX-D 1+19 8:00

Minolta Alpha 9, Sigma 70-300, Kodak 5222 Double-X @250, L110 1+31 6:00

Minolta X-700, Vivitar 24mm f/2, Kodak TMax 400 @400, Rodinal 1+25 6:00

Miranda Sensorex II, Soligor 50mm f/1.4, Delta 100 @400, Rodinal 1+50 23:00

Minolta Alpha 9, 50mm f/1.7, Delta 3200 @3200, D-76 1+3 16:00

Thank you!

Yeah, I took about three rolls worth between three monarchs that I encountered on that hike. I was kind of surprised each time the roll ended in what seemed like record time.

I'd be glad to. Here are some details about the challanges of using film with astro imaging:

Astrophotography Part 4 of 6: Using Film - Articles and Tips | PentaxForums.com

One big advantage is that film is less sensitive to movement slip or very small tangent errors, so if the set-up is good, film shots can be upwards of 30 minutes and still have little to no noticeable blur.

For the setup, I use two iOptron Skytracker units. That way, if I screw up one's settings or get wind-related shake, I have a backup. And if both go well, I have twice the photos!

Here's a link to some details about the iOptron:

Astrophotography Part 2 of 6: Equipment Selection - Articles and Tips | PentaxForums.com

I've managed the iOptron with a 135mm on the front of the Alpha 9 and the results were great. But my tripods are very stable -- a Manfrotto and a Vivitar tripod that, tightened down, can hold a large-format monorail camera steady enough for a long-exposure shot. The iOptron is fantastic for using SLRs and the like. It's not good, or strong, enough for use with a 500mm lens, for instance. I might be willing to use a light 200mm, but I'm not sure how well that would work. Admittedly, I want to try now.

Thank you. I'm impressed by them. I have one that looks like it just came out of the box and one that was REALLY used. I'm also sitting on an FE2, which on paper I should like more but I'm not sure yet. The FM2 is nice. Honestly, though, if you haven't tried an Alpha/Maxxum/Dynax 9 before, that's worth getting. It's simply unbelievable.

I don't use ONLY Pentax cameras. In fact, my favorite camera isn't a Pentax; it's the Minolta Alpha 9. And I've also been enjoying my Nikon FM2 bodies lately, so here are some non-Pentax shots. I do use my Pentax M42 lenses on the Alpha via a chipped M42 adapter.

Minolta Alpha 9, Takumar 18mm f/4, Red Dragon redscale @64 ISO, Chicago

Minolta Alpha 9, Minolta 50mm f/1.7, Kodak 400TX @1600 ISO, D-76 Stock for 9:30

Nikon FM2, Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AI-S AF, Fuji Natura 1600

Minolta Alpha 9, Vivitar 135mm f/2.5, Fuji Natura 1600, 15-minute-ish exposure
