Agree. Software can't fix everything, at least not on my skill level. :D I personally try my best to get the most in–camera so I don't have to rely too much on post processing. Sometimes the conditions are limiting what we can get, but I think that is also a challenge to creativity.

Interesting question. I've tried to edit your image in Affinity Photo and in Capture one. This is the best I could do in reasonable time.
In Affinity I first used the "Lighting" live filter and then added Vibrancy, Clarity, Dehaze, colour cast and curves.
In Capture One, it was less effort. Just some curves, shadow recovery, Structure, clarity and some work in the Colour Tool.
