They were on their way into the park as I was exiting. I arrived early in the morning, no traffic. I parked far from the Center of the park where the loop road goes, and hiked around the trails "off the beaten path". All in all, it was a relaxing bit of near solitude. It's very interesting to me that Garden of the Gods was once well away from the city, but my how things have grown! Still, it's not as bad as Denver, (yet)

I very much agree, when I travel to visit my family in Colorado, it's often the only lens I take with me. Such a versatile lens. |

I appreciate the craft, but no. The blacksmith was part of a fair I attended, very nice work.

Those bricks line the interior of a former railroad tunnel. Very interesting place to visit.

You are fortunate to have had that lens as part of the kit, I purchased mine used here from the PF marketplace, and I do not regret it. I have travelled extensively taking only that lens, and seldom felt as though I needed another, and I appreciated the compact and lightweight form factor.. Some of the places I went were harsh environments, so the WR sealing made me feel much more comfortable when braving the elements . There is a thread devoted the lens on PF, in case you need more convincing.

According the EXIF, this was shot at 18mm, I'll leave it to you to decide about the vignetting.
To tell the truth, I generally capture a scene knowing I am going to crop. While shooting I leave it uncropped on the K-1, though I do see both options in the OVF and compose accordingly.
WYSIWYG. I don't generally do lens correction

IMO, if you like being out on sunny days, a CPL is a must have. I wish I'd remembered to bring one when I was out and about this past week. Anyway, I tried out the DA 18-135mm WR on the K-1, and the results please me very much. Enough so that I am not in a hurry to replace this lens with the DFA 28-105mm in order to have a walk-around lens for the K-1 that will allow me to face any weather. I'll post some landscapes later, but I wanted to show off some more versatile uses of this great lens.

I think this lens delivers great results and its price weight size and WR make it a great value. Corner softness is mitigated by stopping down, IMO.
Being able to go out and get good images in terrible weather is for me the most important thing

I kept my 18-135 even after getting a K-1. Until Pentax releases an equivalent zoom for Full Frame, that is also WR, I will not part with it, but use it in Crop mode. It is still amazing on the K-1 in crop mode, and well worth the post processing to crop out vignette if I do use it in FF without crop.

Even though I only own a K-1 now, I am keeping the DA 18-135mm and using it in crop mode, or FF and cropping out the minimal vignetting. The IQ and WR make this lens a keeper

Yes, I did not set it to crop on the K1
