Just a quick plug for Peak Design. I had to take advantage of their lifetime warranty after my 5L sling suffered a zipper explosion after five years of frequent use. They gave me a brand new bag. Hope that's the one you pick! :)

Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L V2

My version 1 PD Sling experienced what can only be described as a zipper explosion. I tried to zip it closed, and it just came apart. I filled out the lifetime warranty info online, and despite the bag being more than 5 years old, PD shipped me a brand new bag worth more than the original within a few days.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. :)
I'm eager to see some images.

Look! This one goes to eleven.

I'd love to see a shot of that thing mounted on a camera. :)

Very nice 👍
How's the viewfinder?
Are you planning to adapt some Pentax lenses to it?

There must be a really fast plane between Japan and the US. When I was living in Arkansas, I ordered a few lenses from Japan. The most amazing was the A*600f5.6 that arrived at my doorstep in less than two days.

Congrats on your new gear! Have fun!

Where from?

Shoot it some for me. That lens is one of the few that triggers the remnants of my GAS.

I've used Lenovo laptops for work for many years, and until you spill an entire cup of coffee on one, they perform very well. Plus, I thought the specs were pretty good for the price. Then after thinking about it for a couple of days, the price dropped €200 so I went ahead and bought one. I bought it for photography, specifically Lightroom, and it is a great improvement over what I had. I do confess, however, I did put World of Tanks on it and play a little bit, getting my ass kicked almost every time. :o

Thanks for the Crucial website. I bought Crucial RAM the few times in the past I've upgraded computers and have always been happy with it. Thanks also for your suggestion to get a matched set of RAM. I think that's what I'll do.

Cheers!

Thanks for the advice. Here is the computer I purchased. It lists in the specs 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3200 Megahertz, but it's probably something generic. So based on what you're saying, I should go for something inexpensive since anything higher performance would be limited by what is likely a budget stick of RAM already in my machine?

edit: I was able to see that the installed RAM has a Samsung label.

And thank you for the advice. Much appreciated!

Yes, QWERTZ.

I'm thinking about getting another 16G stick of RAM for the empty second slot, but I'm not sure which type I should be shopping for.

I ran up against this today while using my A*200f4.0 Macro and had to toss a bunch of shots that were misfocused. Between that and using my K500f4.5, today was a frustrating photography day.

To stick to the topic, my latest photography acquisition is a Punks Trent monopod by Three Legged Thing. I bought it specifically to use with my super telephoto lenses like the aforementioned K500f4.5. Today I discovered that won't be a practical option. The lens requires two hands to operate, so I can't spare one to manage the monopod.

That's all the more reason you need to have the conversion done and to use your new camera. Congrats!

My new computer arrived today. It's not a hot rod, but it still smokes the 5-6 year old Zenbook I've been using. It's an i5 12th generation, 16G RAM, 1TB SSD, Geforce 3060 RTX, and a 27" QHD Gaming monitor. The system is sold as a Lenovo gaming rig. Now I have to get used to the German keyboard. Why did they switch the y and z keys?

I was getting close to the maximum number of images for the free account. When I noticed the Pro accounts were on sale, I decided to go for it. So I'm now a Pro Flickr member.

Very sharp. I had my M85 done like that. I wanted to have a few more lenses silvered, but my source dried up. Any leads on a person who is doing this appreciated.
