This is my try. I isolated the area using PS magic wand, then toned down the color by picking a selection from the nearby area and finally applied a gaussian blur to the whole thing. I also rounded off the guy's head in the backgound because it looked flat to me. I also put a wider border on the pic but only because I kept smearing the one you had applied. I am new to this whole photoshop thing and am sure someone else can do it better.
