Let's cross our fingers, my friend. We are getting a nice rain today, but it's colder than a well-diggers . . . . . . well you know :o. Supposedly, we had light snow before dawn, but I didn't get up earlier enough to see it. Back to 70 on Sunday.

You're right buddy - we seem to go from pillar to post. Thanks for the nice words.

Thanks, Michael. Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest the situation is dire, but it could be if we don't get a serious uptick in precipitation over the next two or three months.

Hey buddy, send some our way when you can. I know you have great influence over such maters :).

Yeah, Bob - I hope we don't go back to constant dust! BTW, converting oil to water is a well-known process: you simply have to burn it to get water and - unfortunately - carbon dioxide.

Until last fall - when we were blessed with plenty of rain - we've been in various forms of drought over the last two or three years. However, it's been a dry winter (normally the wet season) and there's talk that the drought may re-emerge :(. Here are some shots of the Texas Sea Center's marshy preserve, which clearly show diminished shallows.
