The SMC Pentax-M28/2.8 is my favorite lens for startrails (panorama from 2 APSC cameras and lenses for circa 40 mins. each).

I found M 28/2.8 is good for panoramas (at f 11).

This is definitely good for low-light wide open shots (with some glow sometimes, but good detail). If you close down it to f5.6 - f11 there are definitely many better lenses.

Thank you. This was just after non-existing sunset. My feeling is that this particular lens really shines at f11!
