Lee and LeChefRouge, nice to see a couple of Pentaxians in the Huntsville area. I've been here 25yrs. Interestingly, was at that same tulip farm a few weeks ago myself, with my lovely bride. I am not regularly active on this forum (or any forums, really) these days, but great to see some local folks here when I had a moment to check in. I have been working too much and not doing much photography aside from documenting family milestones along the way. Hoping to get back to it sometime soon. Shoot me a PM and perhaps we can all catch up for coffee and a little photography some time.

As you gain experience with the K-1, I'd love to see a thread on your comparison/contrasting of the two systems in your use.

Absolutely! I always shoot in Professional mode, unless I'm really in a hurry, in which case I shoot in the "Green Means Go!" mode! ;)

Man, don't you know turning the hood around makes the lens more aerodynamic, and therefore faster? Flip it around and you'll pick up at least a stop and a half of speed on any lens! ;)

While on a family trip out to Colorado and New Mexico a couple of weeks ago, my son and I were shooting our K30 and K3 at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. We were wrapping up to leave, and a fellow comes by with an identical blue K30 to what my son is shooting, albeit with a much more expensive lens. We chatted a bit, and shared our experience and opinions with lenses. Of course, we both remarked it was nice (and rare) to see another Pentaxian out and about.
