This picture really caught my eye! :)
Nice! ---------- Post added 01-16-24 at 01:13 AM ----------
Very nice!
To me, it’s a powerful image.
And I especially appreciate how you captured the filament of the bulb without over-exposing that, and yet achieved a lovely exposure level - not too dark and with enough detail - in the rest of the picture. ---------- Post added 01-16-24 at 01:21 AM ----------

Very good picture.
I like the composition, the sharpness/clarity of the glasses in the foreground, the background bokeh, the dynamics.

The DA35 f2.8 Ltd. is one of my favourite and heavily used lenses too.
I've found it an amazing lens! Whether in macro application or otherwise, its ability to capture the very finest of detail, coupled with its unique way of rendering it, and the contrast and colour it gives — remarkable! Time and again I've been pleasantly stunned by this lens — a gem.

Fully agree.
The DA35 Ltd is often dismissed as only being useful for macro work.
Not true.
I've found it also good for walk-around.
As you said, versatile indeed. One of my personally most-used lenses.

Agree fully - that's been my experience using this lens, and it's true whether in macro usage or as a general purpose lens. Incredible detail, and with signature contrasts & colours.

I've found that the DA35 Ltd (and also the DA15 Ltd, in fact probably the whole DA Limited family) are SUPERB at handling contrasts - they render in such a way as to give a crisp, compelling, slightly larger-than-life result. Uniquely beautiful. Zeiss gives something similar, but not quite the same.
And the amazing thing about the DA LTD glass is, the deep shadow areas are still rendered with considerable detail when one zooms in, and still able to show some micro-contrast, although already so dark! This I attribute to the glass, not the sensor, because I see it evident even in older sensors eg. K-7.
The DA LTDs are in a class of their own in rendering contrast - really special.

That's definitely true!
Apart from close-up shots and macro proper, I've used it a lot for general walkabout, architecture, landscapes, etc. A very versatile lens, with superb IQ and beautiful DA Limited-style rendering.

Nice rendering, wide open. And plenty sharp too.

You sure are putting that lens to good use - an interesting series of pictures you posted. I especially like #1 and #4.

My experience has been similar.
It IS indeed a remarkable lens of outstanding IQ - a modern classic by Pentax.

Hi John,
Yes, rummaging for lenses, mounting them while in awkward situations, and many other forms of "difficulty" are part of the wonderful world of prime lenses ... ;) It's called "Suffering for your art!", and I think it's worth it. :)
I'm not usually much of an HDR fan myself, but I thought your HDR picture was really nicely done! Cheers.

Would definitely love to see a DA LTD 135mm. I can just imagine the photos it could produce... telephoto perspective, with that gorgeous, trademark DA LTD style of rendering images.

Maybe it would have been better phrased "Is that without any PP?"
Was interested whether this picture was representative of the 21's intrinsic color rendering.
In any case, a beautiful result.

Understand exactly what you mean. The DA35 Ltd is one of my most heavily used lenses, and I don't mean just for macro.
Nice picture, by the way. :)
