Camera PENTAX K-30
Shutter Count 5,640
Manufacture Date 2013:09:25 ( This was made a few months before I got it for a replacement direct from Pentax UK)
This was a replacement K30 as water got into my first one. I'm not sure if it has been acting up or not but no underexposure as yet.
It is worthy to note most of my photography is with K or M lenses. I have recently got an F*300 so I am hoping I don't get aperture block.
Has there been any analysis done yet on the correlation of failures and manufacture dates?

I couldn't disagree more. A week's worth of time lapse photography and I need to buy another camera?????
Pentax have mucked up big time saving money on a critical part of the camera and won't admit they have ffff'd this one up.
I am on my 2nd K30, the first one not living up to the weather sealing claim and now this specification fault.
You can't compare DSLR with film regarding cost per shutter actuation, film is exotica and sits in my special case upstairs for the next 500 years.
DSLR's are meant to take 100,000s of images so Pentax have under engineered their specification.
I'm telling Julian Assange about this :D
