It's been there for 27 years, so.... no, it's not butter. :) It's a public sculpture called "La foule illuminée" (The Illuminated Crowd, by Raymond Mason). According to Wikipedia, it's made of polyester resin with a polyurethane surface. It does look like butter though. It's quite large and photogenic, and when sunlit it stands out quite brightly. I pass by it pretty much every weekday, so I often take photos of it just to try to find new perspectives and, well, practice makes perfect, right?
Here's a another of my Vivitar 13mm attempts: |

Hi all,
I just wanted to share a first good-ish test shot with my new (to me) Vivitar 13mm F/2.8. This is my first Samyang lens, and eventually I'd probably also like to get the 85mm F/1.4. So far - just two days in! - I'm really liking the 13mm, but it really does have a lot of distortion and it's not obvious to compose so as to downplay that. (I'll just have to learn to fix it in software I guess.) Anyway, comments on the shot and/or advice on best uses of the lens are always appreciated! This one is F/16, 1/125s, 200 iso. (BTW, I cross-posted this shot to the K-01 forum.) |
