So you wouldn't drop another $500 bucks on the Pentax HD TC?

K-3 and F*300 with Tamron 1.4 TC. I'm wondering if the new Pentax HD 1.4 TC would do any better? Pics seem to look sharp enough though..... Pics are only sightly cropped for proper centering. IMGP4210 by frankweiser, on Flickr IMGP4219 by frankweiser, on Flickr IMGP4240 by frankweiser, on Flickr

I don't know why your surprised. If you've done any research at all you'd know that the F*300 is the best lens Pentax has ever made. Or should I say it equals the FA 31 in IQ and contrast. Plus the fact that the lens is white gives you instant "street cred" :) Untitled by frankweiser, on Flickr

I agree. Funny though others on this forum think you can get the same results using cheap glass because they have quote unquote "talent" LOL.

I'm sorta feeling the same. What TC do you use? I have the Tamron 1.4X Pz-AF MC4 teleconverter. I only use it on my F*300. However I prefer to not use it when I can. Sort of defeats the purpose of the TC ;)
I mean, it works and everything and it's most definitely as sharp but you lose one stop of light and at 420mm it's a bit harder to keep steady. I dunno.......

F*300 with Tamron 1.4 TC. Wondering if the Pentax HD TC would look better? IMGP2362 by frankweiser, on Flickr ---------- Post added 06-02-16 at 05:37 PM ----------
Nice Pics, but definitely not as sharp as a Pentax DA* 300 or F*300 with 1.4 TC which would get you to 420mm if my math is correct?

I know the F*300 takes sharper pictures than that at F4.5. Not sure what happened but something is not right.

Nice Sharp Dragon fly shot. My best lens for Dragon fly's is the FA 100 2.8 macro if you can believe it.
