The knocking it down bit was my reaction, however with a backup strap it might be OK. That apart, it looks a smart idea and one that I'll be interested in seeing how it works out.
I'm sitting here in my soon to be converted empty spare room come mini 'studio' and the Platypod's possibilities with lighting is making me think. Trouble is I'm cobbling this room together with 99% DIY parts, so maybe a stud fixed to a piece of timber will work equally well in a studio. More inspiration to create cheaper alternatives ...
