Skierd - great photos of the dog, and you really nailed the focus. Did you use AF.C, and if so how many focus points?
I've tried it a few times and really wanted to like it, but never had a good hit rate, especially with the subject moving towards the camera. I gave up on it for kids' soccer and always use AF.S. Maybe the DA*50-135 works better with it than the screwdrive Tamron I've been using...

Have fun! I also experimented with a small flashlight stuck to a post at the side, shining across the focal plane with the intention of highlighting the in-focus seeds, but to be honest I don't think it made the slightest bit of difference in the end :-)
I'm loving the K-30, though - it's really rekindled my interest in photography, after many years - so much to learn...

Thanks! Yes, exactly - this was with the old SMC-A 50/1.7 that came as a standard lens with my old Super A, my first 'real' SLR when I was teenager... (wow, now I feel old)

Treated myself to a K-30 over Christmas - my first DSLR, and first SLR in more years than I care to think about... loving the K-30 so far, and having fun trying to remember how to drive a real camera...
I've also been pleasantly surprised by the cheap Sigma 18-200 kit lens it came with, which I bought with low expectations thinking I'd replace it as soon as I could afford something better.
A couple of snaps - still lots to learn... Summer rain by speagles2, on Flickr Relaxing by speagles2, on Flickr Little lizard by speagles2, on Flickr Wet clothes at sunset by speagles2, on Flickr
