I'm afraid not. I was originally toying with the idea of OGPS unit but to tell the truth, I think I'm going to plug away with more stacking - it works better with the foreground elements which is what gives your pictures that extra dimension.

X Posted from photosharing.
On a photowalk the other day with a mate through the 5 waterfalls walk in the Blue Mountains NSW. I took over 150 shots and spent around 4 hours on a 2.8km walk. I will be back for sure - next time after some heavy rains as the falls were more of a trickle. This taken with K30, Sigma 10-20mm 3.5 EX DG, 13sec @ f/18. |

Absolutely stunning images. They really have that extra-quality that shows the standard this lens/camera combo is capable of. Incidentally, what were the f stops for these? I'm still getting to know the nuances of this lens and there seems to be a real "sweet-spot" between too soft at one end, and diffraction at the other.

Great work Drivingback. I especially love "Shapeshifter" and "A Plain Morning". I think the latter would make a superb B&W - not that there's anything wrong with the colour version.

Thanks dcBear. I bought a mecablitz 52 AF-1. I find it works great on board and as a "smart" slave and does just fine with PTTL. The pic above was taken with the Metz on board set to PTTL with the K30 on AV. I was no more than 20cm from the nearest flower and at 18mm fov with the built in diffuser down the flash handled it pretty well I think.
I also have a Yongnuo 560 which I use when I want a two light setup. If I were to have just one though, I'd definitely go for the Metz, but if you need to save some money, get a cheap manual and it will work fine. It won't be wasted if you want a decent PTTL later because you can use the old one as a second slave.

I'm with you on that. I have a set of square filters but they're too narrow for the UWA

Recent backburns left a pall of smoke that made for a spectacular sunset. Too bad the horizon line was blocked with clouds. Just managed to peek through for a few seconds before disappearing for the night. Mobray Park Sunset by HeywardImages, on Flickr

Another I think turned out OK this afternoon with the 10-20mm 3.5. There were some fantastic sunrays but I was a little late so I missed the best light.

Nice shot Anders,
I tried that with my young'un and spent the next 30mins cleaning off the drool / strained rice. I've since bought a UV for protection :)

I love it. A first glance, on a small screen, it looked like a bullet hole in a window. It would make a great abstract art piece on the right wall.

Haven't had nearly enough time to spend with my new lens. But I have managed to capture a few in my spare moments. Here is another I took near home. Exposure bracketed and HDR in NIK effects. Mt Hunter Gate BW by HeywardImages, on Flickr SunBurst by HeywardImages, on Flickr
