Sandy,
I started to scroll down on my screen, thinking, hmm, golf, perhaps? Then I see the third picture - whoa, that's a serious piece of kit. Your timing was excellent on the shots. Looks like the 1.4x converter works very well.
I think the whole family would be pleased with the last picture - it's a gorgeous portrait.

Using a DA* 50-135 for wildlife shots? Sure, if you can get close enough! This porcupine didn't seem very alarmed by my presence.
