Has anyone see this before? I own 2 K20D's. any info on the red W version?
A bit of digging on some Japanese sites I found some info:
The PENTAX K20D-W. A discrimination model for SD card that can be written only once.
On July 15, 2008 Sandisk (SanDisk) announced an SD memory card that can not be deleted or tampered with in the United States. Police investigation record, testimonial record in court, electronic voting etc. are assumed to be used.
I announced SD WORM "Write Once Read Many" card. Instantly lock the written data and make it impossible to erase or overwrite.
Compatible with standard SD memory card slots, you can share data with SD WORM compatible devices. Moreover, if it is room temperature protected from static electricity and humidity, it is said to have a lifespan of 100 years.
Sandisk works on SD Association, adopting SD WORM as a standard. It will also provide firmware that allows SD WORM to be used in partnership with manufacturers such as cameras, voice recorders, medical devices, and electronic checkouts.
