I think Pentax is a tad more frequent in eastern Europe and Russia due to easy compatibility with the old M42 soviet time lenses, but old lens fans are a minority group too:)
Everyone asks me why I got the Pentax camera, many have not even heard of the brand. Currently K30 is the best bang for the buck if you want a camera that's got 1) good high iso/low light performance, 2)weatherproof, 3) 100% coverage prism finder, 4) has two control dials, which is what I wanted, and what I got:) Plus the WR kit lens seem to be of good quality, better than comparable entry level lens from canon, nikon or sony.
