Thanks Steve,

The Downy Woodpecker is more common in my area. Obviously Flickers are in the area as well but I just haven't noticed them before.

Some onithological assistance required here.

I think this is some sort of Sandpiper but that red patch on the back of the head doesn't seem to fit in my bird guide. Fortunatley, I always get a quick answer in this forum. I haven't seen these fellows in the area until today. Possibly they are migrating south. I any case they were seen in a pond area up the road.







There were a pair of them.
