Wonderful ddekadt,
You know with all the flak the DA* 16~50/2.8 takes one would think it was impossible to make an image with it.
Mine works just fine and so does yours.:)

Thanks Richard,
Lighting was nothing special. I used my Pentax AF360 FGZ flash mounted on the K10d and hand held. AS I recall I used the AV setting so I could use an f stop of 5.6 which is apparently the sweet spot for this lens. Nothing special in PP - just a good lens and camera. Th DA* 16~50 seems to have almost macro like sharpness in the center.

I've only had this lens a short while but I like it a lot. I haven't really had a chance to really put it through its paces yet. There are so many great images in this thread from this lens I'm sure I made a good choice.
In my case I shoot mainly in the longer telephoto range so this lens is a bit of a departure. The DA* 16~50 filled a big hole at the short end of the range for me. I suspect indoor shots, team photos and some portraits will be the main uses as I don't do a lot of landscape work.
In any case here are a few uninspired shots of the tools I use for my other hobbies. I finally built a workbench and got my tools organized after ten years in the house.
Pretty close to macro sharpness as well.
