One of the contestants decided to do a Selena tribute in the costume portion of the event at the April 16th Hooters competition in Houston. K3 with 24-90mm f3.5-4.5 FA lens f11@125th

On the 16th of April Hooters held the Houston regional final to select the representative for the National Contest. Here is the girl who won that contest. The shot is from phase 1 of the contest - which was a "costume" competition. This, once again, is an event photo not a studio shot. Because of the chaos of the event I don't have any chance to pose the girls, and I have to take what ever pose they give me. Consequently I have to set up my lights to handle almost any pose. K3 with a 24-90mm f3.5-4.5 FA lens at 90mm f11 @ 1/125 sec. Lighting: 3 Flashpoint 320m lights and soft boxes.

Were you using the multiple focus spots or the single center spot?

It is very difficult to do stage photography, those are impressive shots.

Was the pop up, on camera flash, used as a fill, or did you use an external unit? Even with that much lens you had to be pretty close to those birds to get those shots.

Love the results the K3 is producing. Here is my shot of the Miss Hooters contest winner in the pageant held in Katy Texas on April 2. This is an event photo - not a studio shot. 50mm f1.4FA lens at f10 and 1/125th with two Flashpoint 320m monolights and softboxes.

One last try: The girls at the Hooters in Katy TX jumped in a big cardboard box. K3 - F1.4 50mm - on camera flash. DNG developed in the Gimp (UFraw) and Elements 9.
