There is no way to lose here. If you don't mind switching lenses or you go out with a prime mentality go with the lovely DA primes. If you are worried about weather or like some flexibility in framing go with the zoom. In terms of outright IQ, I have never thought in the 1.5 years with the zoom that I wished I didn't sell my 21 or 40. If this is a street kit, then go with the primes can't be more inconspicuous than the 21 or 40.
