Thanks to Sagitta and Vihmameister for your replies and for the links. It seems it also depends on which program you use to view images. I opened the images in windows live view and the banding
was'nt visible(I normally use Fastone for viewing and basic pp). Glad to know it is not a lens problem.
Cheers

Hi, I have just received a Bower edition of the Sammy 14mm and have been out and about the last couple of days testing with my K5ii. I have been trying to dial in
infinity and best aperture. It seems infinity is between the 2 & 3 metre mark on the distance scale and the sharpest images i've got so far is at f4 & f8. The first few
pics taken on gloomy days(we are in the middle of winter here) seem to be ok. Today we got some sunshine so I took a couple of pics testing for flare. After downloading
I noticed this weird banding in the sky. What I would like to Know is, if this is normal for this kind of lens or is it a dud?
I would like to keep this lens(if it's not a dud) but I do have the option of returning it for a full refund(they won't do an exchange as it was the last one in stock and they
no longer do business with the supplier). So what do you more informed folk think? Is it a keeper or do I return it?
