Thanks. I did buy my first SLR, the K-1000, in the mid-80s when I started at Ryerson. I remember frequenting a few big camera stores (Henry's and a few others) in the Church and Queen area where I could look at all the lenses and dream (I was a cash-strapped student back then, after all). But yes, that's when/where the photography bug really took hold of me. It's reassuring to know that a few bricks and mortar stores that carry Pentax gear still exist.

I'm sure a lot has changed since the late eighties when I was there. It was actually Jorgenson Hall in the background that jogged my memory, although I do recall an Irish-themed pub (the name of it escapes me right now) in the building currently under construction. Back then, the sights and sounds (and sometimes smells) of T.O. left quite an impression on a country boy like me. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Looks like the old stomping grounds from my Ryerson days. Yonge and Gerrard?

It always amazes me how these Eastern white cedars (Thuja occidentalis) manage to survive in the shallow soil and rocks of the Niagara Escarpment. IMGP1449 02 by Robert Span, on Flickr

And, of course, the photographer has acquitted himself admirably with the tools at hand. ;-)

Nice one, Ray! The black & white treatment really works on this photo and I love the 3D effect.
