My cheapo 40.5mm 720nm IR filter from ebay just arrived. Ofcourse the sun wasn't shining for proper testing but here is my first picture with it. I think it will be great when the weather clears. (Q, 02 lens @7mm, slightly cropped, 6s exposure, f4.5, iso 125, curves + saturation modified in PS) |

That's why we have an awesome built-in ND filter :)

Auto Chinon 135mm f2.8 @f5.6 iso250 1/250s handheldn, uncropped. Red-dot sight mounted on top of the Q really helps aiming long lenses. |

I'd highly recommend it considering the price ($40-$60 on ebay). This one is in my family for at least 20-25 years and it is in perfect condition. I've been shoting with it for a long time. Used it on an old Chinon, an MZ-5n, a *istDS and now on the Q. It was a great portrait lens on film with awesome looking smooth bokeh. Chromatic aberration at 2.8-4 is the only noticable flaw for me but I can live with that.

First image with 03 fisheye, following images from the same location with a Chinon 1:2.8 135mm. White frames on the wide angle picture show the tele images in context. (There aren't any post processing or cropping done to the images except for the frames in the first) |

Yes, I'm well aware of that but this was the longest exposure I could use because it wasn't all that dark. Aperture was smallest (f8), ISO was 125 and I even used the 02's built in ND filter.

The battery depleted at the end of the video unfortuntely but it wasn't fully charged to begin with. I really didn't plan to shoot interval. Otherwise with the display and instant review turned off for interval shooting the Q can easily reach the 999 limit of continuous shooting.

02 lens, ND on, f8, 1/3s
This was my first picture when the storm came. After this I set the camera to interval shooting and put it on a tripod. I left it to shoot 565 images and none of them has a single lightning on them :)
Anyway I compiled them to a timelapse. It's flickering a bit because initially I wasn't planning to do a timelapse and left the camera on aperture priority.

Really nice pictures. I'm surprised the 110 lenses are actually good (well at least the 50mm). Do you have any k-mount 50mm lenses and an adapter for the Q? I'd like to see some side by side comparisons. I have a 110 with the lenses but I don't have an adapter.

I still haven't found a genuinely good use for the blur control feature. Everything I tried turned out to be pretty ugly and fake looking. So far it just takes up space on the camera.

Nothing special really. Just blurred the top and bottom of the image with a smooth transition towards the sharp parts. This effect works best with sharp cimages with high contrast and nice saturated colors.

I agree, the Q is a joy to use compared to a DSLR. I carried my *istDS from 2004 to 2012 (then I dropped it into a lake) and the difference in comfort is huge. I'm in love with this little gem. It certainly attracts attantion amongst photographers. The other day a guy with a huge Nikon couldn't comprehend the sight of the white Q with the 50mm K-mount I posted earlier :D

This lens makes an awesome tele with the Q. It's pretty sharp at f4. Looks very anachronistic on the Q especially with the much older Spotmatic lens cap :) I'll soon try the M mount Super Takumar 1:1.4 too.
Another picture with the 1:1.7 50mm, this time a single shot. |

36 shots (still missed a small chunk of the sky so had to cheat and draw that part in PS :) ) with the 02 lens at 5mm iso125 f/5 1/125s. I could be done with far less shots by using a tripod and a bit more planning.
