Many thanks! I couldn't agree more about this lens; its performance is such that I've never felt compelled to replace it with anything else. It also makes a great match with my K-3 II.

Thank you very much! Yes, it's named in honor of William L. Manly, an American pioneer in the mid-1800s, who was particularly known for guiding gold miners (the '49ers) through Death Valley during the gold rush of 1849.

Thanks Alan! There was only slight post-processing by way of a mid-tone contrast and a little shadow lightening. Make no mistake, the light when this image was taken was like nothing I'd ever seen. The setting sun behind the mountain lit up the fortuitous cloud layer that in itself cast a lavender glow over the entire area as darkness slowly advanced. It was a surreal moment, especially at that place!

Thank you and a "well done" for yours as well!
No focus stacking, I took the shot at f/11 with the ISO at 800 (the high-ISO performance of the KP came into play here) and focused on that "rock" in the mid-foreground. That must have been enough to achieve enough depth of focus for this shot. There were a few others that evening where I wasn't so lucky!

Thanks! Even though it appears to have been exposed through a polarizer, believe it or not there wasn't one for this shot. The sun angle was such that a deep blue sky was achieved without it.

Lovely shot Jim... and LOL the same exact place!
It was off the side of the road somewhere on the Willow City Loop as well, just this past April, maybe we there at the same time. It was a stunning wildflower show overall in the Hill Country this year.
