I had a rare opportunity to drive through a wind farm yesterday. My trusty K5iis and DA 18-135 really came through for me.

I tried my hand at light painting for the first time last night. I recently purchased a 100mm glass sphere for photographic purposes and decided to try light painting it first. I used a handheld UV light and a 200mw green laser. I see room for improvement of course, but I think I have a good handle on it. K5iis and my trusty 18-135 at work.

Thanksgiving Day we had a pretty interesting fog bank roll in across the beanfields. I grabbed the K5iis with my favorite lens and took some snapshots.

And a short video taken with the same lens and camera.

Crop duster was out working the cotton field across the road from my house. Grabbed the K5iis and started shooting.

Yesterday the camera club that I'm a member of had an assignment. We walked around Elizabeth City NC to take pictures of "Signs of Spring". I took my Pentax K-S2 and used one of the built in digital filters, I don't recall which one but I think it might have been invert color.

I really love this lens, and I am really beginning to like the K-S2 as well, I normally use the K5iis but last minute decided to carry the K-S2.

Probably the most patient seagull I've ever encountered, he sat right on that piling and posed until I was done shooting.

Drove to the county seat today for lunch. Took the K5iis and 18-135 with me. A mother/daughter team run a small lunch truck with really good food! Both of them are just as nice as you'd ever want to meet and gladly let me take their picture.

I took a dirt/gravel road home which adds about 10 minutes to the trip but subtracts about 3 miles from the trip. Saw 6 turkeys, which this time of year is fairly common.

A little farther down the road Ginny was munching some alfalfa. I whistled and she looked up and let me take her picture. I think she's a pretty little burro.

Last night we had a very yellow sunset, more yellow than I had seen in a while. My K5iis had the 18-135 WR lens already attached so I went out to shoot. Other than cropping a little, this is straight out of the camera.

Today I set up my K5iis on a tripod, settings were ISO80 1/4Sec f/22
These are my first attempts at zoom-blur effect.

Just another reason to love this lens!

This was one of the first shots I took with the lens when I got it. The trees are over 450 yards away. I was shooting to test the lens sharpness and clarity at various ranges while in AF mode. I was impressed then and I still am. The DSLR I used was my trusty K20D. Lens set at 135mm.

This is 100% crop.

Taken with my new K5iis and the 18-135mm lens. Set on 135mm, handheld auto focus, manual controls.

ISO200, F/5.6, 1/250sec. Cropped to 100% but no PP manipulation.
