Sorry for double posting but ive been watching jason laniers videos where he raves about how the a6000 is so amazing. Im wonder, aside from the small size, what are really the advantages of the sony mirrorless systems? Anyone who has switched from a dslr, how did this help you? Thanks! Ive got my first wedding comming up and im wondering whether mirrorless would be better. I just watched his video where he shoots an entire wedding with the a6000 You Tube |

EDIT: Does the a7 have some sort of equivalent of af lock?

Eh, i own a d600 and had some slight dust issues at the beginning but they actually went away by themselves. Im actually looking at switching over to the sony a7ii when i have more money. The dual card slots and much higher bitrate got my attention :D I am a pretty strong guy so the weight of a big full frame dslr doesnt really bug me, but im really loving what ive seen about the evf! And the apps too! I am probably one of the younger people her and i grew up with smart phones, so being able to add new things via apps sounds very cool. Ive seen reports on the internet that in airplane mode , the a7ii got 1000+ shots. http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3584344#forum-post-52627692
This is great news since i can get a little trigger happy. During one of my earlier shoots with m d600 i shot around 1200 images.. This was in jpeg though. :D

With everything being made of mirroress, the only thing that is really preventing me from switching is the lack of controls on the sony systems. I love having all the dedicated buttons on the d600 to change exposure comp, focus lock, etc.
