The 55mm is a beauty! Great IQ and bokeh at any f-stop. But it's more geared towards portraits, is that something you plan to do a lot?
In this case, wait a little bit before investing further. Use the 16-85 and the 55-300 and pay attention to the focal lengths that you use the most. After a while, see if you can improve on those kinds of pictures by using a prime. But first use what you got. It's a learning curve, so don't try to get yourself frustrated by putting too many variables into this at once. It's supposed to be an enjoyable hobby, not something you get frustrated with because you're lost in a myriad of different things that you have to learn at once!

2 days still? Ooh man... that wait's gotta be tough...
So did you decide on any primes yet? :)

Those pictures are nice, but they're the older version of the lens (SMC). The new HD version with the HD coating seems to have better colors and microcontrast (a.k.a. "perceived sharpness"). See: https://www.flickr.com/search/?text=pentax%20hd%2055-300mm&view_all=1
A good 2 lens starter setup, add a DA 35mm f2.8 Limited Macro and a DA*55mm f1.4 and you'll be set for a while ;)
