It's a truly extraordinary plant, you were lucky to catch it since it blooms every few years for a couple of days. The rest of the time it's like a big tulip bulb. I've seen the Melbourne specimen in flower twice, which was grown from a seed brought back from Sumatra by David Attenborough when he filmed one for one of his doccos. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amorphophallus_titanum |
